What to see and do in a day on your Munnar trip

Mattupetty Dam

Among the important dams in Idukki district is the Mattuppetty dam.
The lake is surrounded by lush green forest giving you a relaxed and calm feeling when you visit this dam. One can enjoy the boat rides and delicious snacks served by the shacks on the lake’s shore.

Echo point

The Echo point is where one can shout and get an echo back!
It is a lake with densely wooded hills on either side so when you shout out loud, you tend to hear exactly what you said. One can witness low-lying clouds which hang low over the lake creating a very spooky experience.

Top station

As the name says, it is on the top of hills where the road ends. One has to walk on foot to reach this viewpoint as there is no entry for cars or other vehicles. You can enjoy the 360-degree view of the clouds and western ghats from this point while sipping on a hot cup of tea.

Tea museum

The Tata Tea plantation lies where one can see the processing of the leaves in the tea factory. One must note that the plantation shuts at 4 PM. So plan accordingly.

Marayoor

Marayoor, known for sandalwood trees. For art enthusiasts, there are some rock paintings and a special kind of tomb called dolmen. This place also exhibits rich fauna for the visitors

Eravikulam National Park

Home to endangered Nilgiri Tahr, the Eravikulam National Park is regarded as the main attraction. The park remains open from 7.30 AM to 4 PM. Nature and animal lovers can have a good time visit this place as it offers some beautiful views of the tea gardens and flora fauna. To avoid the queue one can book their tickets online and save time.
